The commercial above, entitled "Swear Jar" is a brilliant example of pushing the envelope in advertising. After watching the commercial, I was curious to see how successful Bud Light was with the ad. Turns out it was great, resulting in them winning a Creative Arts Emmy for the commercial.
It was a brilliant commercial. Starting with its target market, young adult males, the humor aspect always is very successful. Next, Bud Light did something no other company has done; center an ad around profanities. We all know what they are saying, but the bleeps add humor to the situation of your boss screaming swears at the top of his lungs.
Overall, I would have to agree that this commercial deserved an Emmy. It was very different, something every, in advertising or not, likes to see in commercials. It definitely sparked interest and caused buzz around the internet, which is exactly what they wanted to do.
