Is the next big thing already here?

Uh oh. Shots have been fired towards Apple's Iphone 5 courtesy of the Samsung Galaxy S3. This ad is basically taking shots at not only Apple's product but at the people who buy it, ridiculing them for wasting their time on an inferior product.

This got me wondering; why would Samsung so blatantly attack the Iphone? The Galaxy S3 had already outsold the Iphone 4s, so why the concern for Samsung? This was easy to see. Whenever Apple releases a new product, the hype surrounding it is tremendous. Just look at the mass amounts of people that camp out just to get their hands on the product first. That's what companies what, now that is brand appreciation. But this mudslinging by Samsung reminds me way too much of a political commercial, which we all have been seeing way too many of in the past months.

I've noticed that Apple never resorts to any sort of downplaying of their competitors products. They always carry the respectful, classy, and cutting-edge image. I think that's what attracts people to their product line. Apple is more than a brand to people, and Samsung will never achieve this with the way they handle themselves now.

In review, I don't believe the ad will cause many people to change their minds about getting the Iphone 5. Honestly, the Iphone 5 could have been a step back in development from the 4s, yet it still would have sold millions of units. This just goes to show that a company is more to people than just their products. Take notes, Samsung.
