Sprechen sie man-hug? With the NFL season underway, more and more people will be exposed to new advertisements every week. And what better way to promote the NFL's new weekly Thursday Night Football than a Zach Galifinakis look-a-like with a very... unique sense of humor.
This advertisement struck me as very peculiar: it wasn't the traditional football advertisement with hard hits and outstanding plays. As a matter of fact, it had nothing football related in it whatsoever. Just a man, in a suit, on a mountain, with sheep. Yet, I found myself wanting nothing more than Thursday Night Football to be here. How did this work?
Simple; it made me laugh. It didn't take a very complex commercial to win me over; it simply took the Will Ferrell-esque and wittiness of the script to do it. It was refreshing to see humor used to advertise for football.
If you haven't seen the bearded man's new "Bears vs Packers" commercial (which I unfortunately could not find on the internet) I encourage you leave on any sports channel until you see it. Well worth it. Needless to say, I will be looking forward to this man's weekly advertisements for the upcoming Thursday night game.
