POWER!!!

Old Spice has never had normal commercials; they have always done something different, whether it be the humorous or artistic aspects of their ads. I knew that Old Spice is willing to go out there and make a commercial that will get people talking, but this caught me off guard. Old Spice featured it's product inside of another commercial, effectively advertising for both brands. Bounce and Old Spice have recently combined to create one funny, yet effective ad.

After watching the commercial, I had a few questions as to why two completely different products would advertise together. I mean, when you think of laundry does the POWER!!! of Old Spice come to mind?

So I took to the internet to try and answer my questions, and one of the first things that made sense was who  owns the Old Spice and Bounce brands. Proctor and Gamble is one of the largest consumer goods companies not only in the United States but the world. By putting two of their products into one ad, I believe  they maximized exposure while reducing cost (2 commercials cost less than 1 commercial). Also, the humor of this will definitely help to sell Old Spice, because their target market is men. But why include bounce.

My instant thought; who does the shopping in the house? Women. And if they are buying their man (or kids... or whatever) Old Spice, then they just might, albeit subconsciously, also purchase Bounce for their laundry. Very clever P&G... very clever.
